A farmer faced a heavy financial loss after a fire suddenly broke out late on Wednesday night in a 'dhani' (a small settlement) built in a field in the Rohi of Ramasara village, Lunkaransar tehsil. The fire was so intense that agricultural goods worth lakhs of rupees were burnt to ashes in no time.

Goods Worth Lakhs Burnt to Ashes

Giving information about the incident, Dharampal Ojhaiya, a resident of Ramasara, said that this dhani was built in the field of Gaurishankar, son of Maluram Sharma. Late at night, flames suddenly started rising from the dhani, which caused a panic among the farmers present in the nearby fields.

They immediately informed other villagers, after which a large number of people gathered at the spot.

Rescue Efforts Failed

The villagers who reached the spot tried their best to control the fire on their own, but by then the fire had taken a monstrous form. By the time the fire could be extinguished, most of the valuable goods kept in the dhani had been burnt.

Heavy Loss to the Farmer

The farmer's important agricultural equipment was completely destroyed in this massive fire.

According to the information received, about 130 irrigation pipes, a sprinkler, a large quantity of wheat, and guar stored in sacks were burnt to ashes in the fire. The farmer has suffered a financial loss of lakhs of rupees due to this incident.

Demand for Compensation

Currently, the cause of the fire has not been ascertained. After this incident, local villagers and farmers have demanded that the administration conduct a survey of the site and assess the actual damage. They have appealed for prompt government assistance and proper compensation to be provided to the affected farmer, so that he can resume his farming work.
