Transgender community's initiative, took pledge to vote

A voter dialogue was held for the transgender community in Bikaner's Bada Bazar under the SVEEP program, where they pledged to vote enthusiastically in the upcoming elections.

Bikaner | Keeping in view the Urban Body General Elections-2026, an important program was organized in Bikaner under the Voter Awareness Campaign (SVEEP). On Wednesday, a 'Transgender Voter Dialogue' program was held in Bada Bazar, in which members of the transgender community participated enthusiastically.

This program was organized as per the instructions of District Election Officer Mr. Nishant Jain and SVEEP in-charge & CEO Zila Parishad Shailja Pandey. Its main objective was to inform the transgender community about the importance of voting and to ensure their active participation in democracy.

Every Vote is Precious in a Democracy

Addressing the program, SVEEP co-in-charge and Public Relations Officer Suresh Bishnoi said that the role of every voter is invaluable in strengthening democracy.

He called upon the transgender community not only to vote themselves but also to go door-to-door to make other voters aware about voting. He expressed confidence that the transgender community can become an effective messenger of voter awareness in society.

Officials Appealed for Active Cooperation

On this occasion, Joint Director of the Social Justice and Empowerment Department, Manoj Kumar Gehlot, also shared his views. He appealed to the transgender community to actively cooperate in SVEEP activities and to inspire more and more people to vote.

Detailed Information on Voter Awareness

SVEEP Coordinator Prashant Joshi and SVEEP Co-coordinator Gopal Joshi highlighted the various voter awareness activities being conducted under SVEEP.

They provided detailed information about the importance of voting in a democratic system, the responsibilities of a voter, and active participation in elections.

Community Takes Responsibility for Awareness

During the program, transgender community representative Muskan assured active cooperation in the voter awareness campaign.

She said, "The transgender community will not only vote itself but will also make every effort to inspire other sections of society to vote."

In this dialogue program, Pawan Khatri and Harihar Rajpurohit from the SVEEP team, Assistant Administrative Officer Inayat Hussain and Additional Administrative Officer Vijay Shankar Vyas from the Social Justice and Empowerment Department, along with Lata Bai, Simran Bai, Kismat Bai, Mitthi Bai, Tanushka Bai, Sweety Bai, and Dholi Bai and many other members from the transgender community were present.
