Addressing the workers, BJP State President Madan Rathore said that there is an atmosphere of enthusiasm in Rajasthan regarding the civic elections. He stated that the state is progressing on the path of development under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Vote for Development: Chief Minister
Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma made an important appeal to the people of Jaipur. He said that the civic election is not just an opportunity to elect a representative, but a chance to decide the direction of the city's development for the next five years.
Giving a simple example, he said, "Just as we check a pot thoroughly even when buying it for 25 or 50 rupees, we should also examine the work and intentions of the civic government before electing it for five years."
CM Sharma urged voters not to be swayed by anyone and to rise above caste politics to vote for the development of their city, village, district, and state.
Sharp Attack on Congress Government
In his address, the Chief Minister heavily criticized the previous Congress government and former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot.
Relief from Love Jihad and Appeasement
He said that the BJP government has worked to rid the state of love jihad, appeasement, and religious conversion.
The CM stated that effective steps have been taken to strengthen law and order, and a law against religious conversion has been enacted. He warned that incidents like those during the previous government will no longer be tolerated.
Sharma also mentioned that the Disturbed Areas Act has been brought in to protect the interests of those who were sent out of the walled city, and the path to jail is open for lawbreakers.
One City, One Municipal Corporation
The Chief Minister said that the previous government had created two municipal corporations each in Jaipur, Kota, and Jodhpur, but the BJP government has decided to have one municipal corporation in all three cities, ending the politics of appeasement.
He accused the Congress of practicing politics of "loot and lies" during its tenure and said that the public is now comparing the work of both governments.
Achievements of the BJP Government
CM Sharma listed several achievements of his government's two-and-a-half-year term.
Accelerated Stalled Projects
He said that work is progressing rapidly on long-stalled water projects like ERCP, Yamuna Water, and Gang Canal.
In the power sector, he claimed that compared to 3,900 MW in five years of Congress rule, the BJP government has increased generation capacity by about 12,000 MW in 2.5 years.
Employment for Youth
On the issue of employment, he said that his government has given 1.79 lakh appointment letters, recruitment for 1.22 lakh posts is underway, and notifications for 70,000 posts have been issued.
He claimed that not a single paper was leaked in more than 450 exams conducted during the BJP's tenure, whereas action was taken against more than 600 people in the previous government.
Jaipur Metro Expansion
The Chief Minister informed that the BJP government has advanced the work on the nearly 45-kilometer metro project, which will bring a major improvement to Jaipur's traffic system.
Triple Engine to be Formed in Civic Polls
CM Sharma said that the double-engine government of the BJP at the center and the state is already working for development.
He added that with the addition of the BJP's third engine in municipal bodies and panchayats, the pace of development will accelerate further. He called for strengthening the BJP to fulfill the resolve of "Developed Jaipur, Developed Civic Bodies, and Developed Rajasthan."
