Ajmer | A major incident has come to light in Ajmer, Rajasthan, where a Congress leader has been arrested for posting offensive remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on social media. The police took swift action following a formal complaint.
Action Against Former Youth Congress Leader
The Christian Ganj police station on Sunday took preventive action against former Youth Congress leader Naresh Raghani. The police summoned the accused to the station and interrogated him for nearly four hours.
Following the interrogation, the police took the accused to the hospital for a medical examination. He was subsequently arrested under charges of disturbing public peace and order.
According to the police, Dinesh Parashar, a resident of Amardeep Colony in Vaishali Nagar, filed the complaint. The complainant alleged that Naresh Raghani had shared highly objectionable posts on social media.
The complaint states that Raghani uploaded a controversial post against PM Narendra Modi on April 13. Later, on June 28, he made another derogatory comment targeting Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma.
Post Deleted, Screenshot Revealed the Truth
According to the complainant, the accused deleted the controversial posts from his social media account fearing legal trouble. However, the complainant had already saved screenshots of the offensive comments.
BJP City President Ramesh Soni has also taken the matter seriously. He informed the state leadership and demanded strict legal action against the accused from the Superintendent of Police.
Additional Superintendent of Police (City) Himanshu Jangid confirmed the preventive action. He warned citizens against using abusive language on social media platforms.

Strict Action on Social Media Misconduct
This action sends a clear message that abusive language against public representatives on social media will not be tolerated. The police are currently examining other digital evidence in this case.
Given the seriousness of the matter, the police might add more legal sections during the investigation. The arrest has triggered political debates in the local region.
