Congress Slams Diya Kumari Over Incomplete Development
JAIPUR | Congress has targeted Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari over the slow pace of development works and basic problems in the Vidhyadhar Nagar assembly constituency. Former Secretary of the Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee, Mahendra Singh Khedi, raised serious questions about Diya Kumari's two-and-a-half-year tenure at a public meeting and called the government's development claims hollow.

Ground Reality of Development Claims

Senior Congress leader Mahendra Singh Khedi said that the real picture of the development claims being made by the government and public representatives is in front of the people of Vidhyadhar Nagar.

He stated that a period of two and a half years is not short for implementing development works in any area, but the situation in Vidhyadhar Nagar is disappointing.

Severe Drinking Water Problem

Khedi mentioned that work on the drinking water system has been ongoing for a long time in many areas of the assembly constituency, but many tasks remain incomplete even today.

  • Nangal Jaisa Bohra
  • Charan Nadi
  • Loha Mandi
  • Harmada
  • Sikar Road
  • Nivaru Road

Despite the laying of water lines and the start of tank construction in these areas, people are facing difficulties in getting adequate and clean drinking water.

Playing with Health, Supply of Sewage-Contaminated Water

Khedi expressed serious concern that sewage water is mixing with drinking water in many colonies.

He said that such complaints are continuously coming from surrounding colonies including Sikar Road, Dedh Ka Balaji, Murlipura Scheme, Dadi Ka Phatak, and Jhotwara.

Allegations of Administrative Apathy

Mahendra Singh Khedi alleged that despite the tender process being conducted several times to solve this serious problem related to sewage and drinking water, the work has not started for a long time.

He said that the people of the area have been continuously raising their voices against this problem, but no permanent solution has been found.

The things and claims that are made before the people of Vidhyadhar Nagar are not visible on the ground. For the public, it is not the claims and announcements that matter, but the actual work.

Questions Raised on Budget Announcements

Khedi also referred to the budget presented by Diya Kumari as Finance Minister. He said that many development works related to Vidhyadhar Nagar were announced in the budget, but they were not completed.

He cited the example of the work to connect Khatipura to Jhotwara with the main ring road, which was cancelled even after being included in the budget.

Demand for Accountability

Khedi questioned, "When the MLA of the area herself, as the Finance Minister, includes development works related to her assembly in the budget and later the same work gets cancelled, it raises serious questions about the priority of the government and the MLA."

He said that sewage water in drinking water is not just a development issue, but a serious matter related to the health and life of citizens. The accountability of responsible officials and public representatives should be fixed for this.

Public Wants Work on the Ground

Mahendra Singh Khedi clarified that the people of Vidhyadhar Nagar no longer want just announcements, but work on the ground.

He said that basic facilities like clean drinking water, sewerage system, roads, and traffic are the rights of the public. If these problems are not resolved, the government and local public representatives will have to answer the public's questions.

In the end, appealing to the public in support of the Congress candidate, he said that in this election, the public should make its decision on the issues of development, accountability, and their fundamental rights.
