Family's Dharna Demanding CBI Investigation
The protesting family members claimed that their daughter's death was not normal but a premeditated murder. They have demanded an investigation into the matter by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
Following the death of a young woman in Jaipur, her family protested outside the BJP headquarters demanding a CBI investigation, calling it a case of murder, not a normal death.
The protesting family members claimed that their daughter's death was not normal but a premeditated murder. They have demanded an investigation into the matter by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
The family has demanded a fair investigation and strict action against those found guilty.
Upon receiving information about the dharna, BJP State President Madan Rathore reached the office and met with the protesting family. He consoled the family and took full details of the case.
Rathore asked the family for 10 days' time, assuring them that he would make every possible effort to ensure a fair investigation.
Speaking to the media, Madan Rathore said, "Many people also focus on publicity in such cases, and the media should also act responsibly in such matters."
He further added, "I feel this is not just an attempt to get justice, but also an attempt to get publicized in the media. I don't understand why someone whose daughter has passed away would want to be publicized in the media. I think someone has instigated them to come here, and I condemn it."
The incident occurred on June 6, when the young woman's body was found in the porch of an apartment in Jaipur. According to information, the woman had left her home for cycling.
When she did not return home for a long time, her concerned family members started searching for her, after which her body was recovered from the apartment's porch.
The deceased's family has made several serious allegations in this case and remains firm on their demands.
The family has made it clear that their agitation will continue until they receive a written assurance from the government regarding the CBI investigation. They said they are not satisfied with mere verbal assurances.
The family has also submitted a memorandum to the BJP office-bearers, demanding a serious investigation into the matter by an independent agency.
The deceased's parents have alleged that some influential people are involved in the case, due to which political and administrative pressure is being used to suppress it.
They also said, "We are constantly being pressured, prevented from speaking to the media, and threatened with forced removal if we do not end the dharna."
After talking to the family, Madan Rathore immediately spoke to the Director-General of Police (DGP) Rajiv Sharma on the phone. He also had the on-site police officer, Aditya Poonia, speak to the DGP in an attempt to pacify the family.
Rathore reiterated that the government and the BJP organization are completely in favor of a fair investigation and that justice will be served to the victim's family.
When the family demanded a written guarantee for a CBI investigation, Madan Rathore clarified that he cannot order a CBI probe himself.
He said, "I will write to the Chief Minister conveying their demand for a CBI investigation. But I cannot give them in writing that the investigation will be done by the CBI." During this time, Ashok Nagar police station personnel were deployed at the spot to maintain law and order.
