Congress held a meeting in Jalore for the upcoming municipal elections. District President Ramila Meghwal urged workers to unite and accused the BJP of halting development.
District spokesperson Yogendra Singh Kumpawat stated that the main agenda of the meeting was the preparation for the upcoming municipal elections.
During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on important topics such as strengthening the organization, formulating election strategy, and activating the organization down to the booth level. Additionally, a roadmap for future organizational activities was also prepared.
Addressing the meeting, District President Ramila Meghwal said that the Congress organization is very strong in the entire district, including Jalore city. She called upon all Congress members to work together with full dedication and strength in the upcoming municipal elections.
She stated that a Congress board can be formed in Jalore city only through the collective efforts of everyone. Meghwal also heavily criticized the state's BJP government.
She said that it has been more than two and a half years for the BJP government, but the development situation in Jalore city remains very disappointing.
Ramila Meghwal alleged that basic problems like roads, sewerage, electricity, and drinking water still persist in the city. She said, "The BJP MLA only talks big, but no development work is visible on the ground."
She also accused the BJP government of halting the development works initiated by the previous Congress government instead of carrying them forward.
The District President claimed that the people of Jalore city are completely troubled by the tenure of the previous BJP municipal council board and the current BJP MLA.
She said that in the upcoming elections, it will be a major challenge for BJP candidates to go among the public and account for their work, as the city residents will directly question them about development works.
The meeting was also addressed by former District President Nain Singh Rajpurohit, District Spokesperson Yogendra Singh Kumpawat, Organization General Secretary Virendra Joshi, outgoing Leader of Opposition Basant Suthar, and Sushmita Garg. All these leaders called upon the workers to play an active and united role for the strength of Congress in the upcoming municipal elections.
