Jalore Girls Create History, 11th Consecutive Hockey Title
Jalore | The daughters of Jhak, a small village in the Jalore district of Rajasthan, have achieved what teams from big cities often fail to do. They have turned the famous dialogue "Mhari Chhoriyan Chhoron Se Kam Hain Ke?" into reality on the hockey field.

Jhak Girls Become District Champions for the 11th Time

The girls' team of the Government Upper Primary School, Jhak, has maintained its dominance in the 70th district-level hockey competition.

This team has set a new record by winning the district-level title for the 11th consecutive time.

Not just the girls, but the boys' team from the same school also secured the first position at the district level.

The boys' team emerged as winners for the seventh time, creating an atmosphere of double joy in the entire village.

Mothers Dance to the Tunes of DJ

When the players reached their village Jhak after the victory, the villagers welcomed them with open arms.

A grand victory procession was taken out with a DJ throughout the village, where everyone was seen dancing.

The most emotional and encouraging scene was when the mothers of the players started dancing to the DJ's tunes on their daughters' success.

This victory was not just a win in a sport, but a symbol of the changing mindset of the village and the growing pride in daughters.

The Hockey Journey Started in 2012

This glorious saga of hockey in Jhak village started about 14 years ago.

Before 2012, no girl in this village had ever even touched a hockey stick.

During this time, teacher Rajendra Singh Mandoli took over the responsibility as a physical education teacher in the school and laid the foundation for change.

Despite limited resources, he started training the girls in hockey and instilled a winning spirit in them.

Dedication of Teacher Rajendra Singh

Initially, resources were very few, but the teacher's efforts and the girls' hard work started showing results.

From 2016 to 2026, the Jhak girls' team has maintained its supremacy in the district-level competition.

During this long period, no other team in the district has been able to deprive the Jhak girls of the title.

Currently, even after the appointment of physical education teacher Neelam, Rajendra Singh continues to train the children with her.

Jhak's Dominance at the State Level

According to teacher Rajendra Singh Mandoli, more than 200 girls from this school have played at the district level so far.

Out of these, more than 100 girls have reached the state level and brought glory to the village.

This year, a total of 14 players from Jhak participated in the state-level competition held in Kekri-Ajmer.

These players included 8 girls and 6 boys, reflecting the village's sports talent.

Lack of Facilities Remains a Challenge

Despite continuous success, the lack of facilities is a major challenge for these players.

There is a severe lack of any special academy or modern training facilities for hockey in the district.

Players are still sweating it out with limited resources, dreaming of reaching the national level.

Last year, MLA Dr. Samarjit Singh had announced to provide hockey kits, which has given the villagers a lot of hope.

This story of the daughters of Jhak proves that if the morale is high, even the lack of resources cannot block the way.

Now the next goal of these girls is to wave the tricolor at the national level and win medals for the country.
