Mer Mandawara |On the occasion of National Sports Day, friendly hockey matches were organized among various teams at the sports ground of Shah Gom Ji Deepa Ji Government Higher Secondary School, Mer Mandawara. The main objective of the event was to promote sportsmanship among students and to inspire them with the life of the great hockey player Major Dhyan Chand.
Thrilling Match Between Jhak and Mer Mandawara
As part of the program, a thrilling hockey match was witnessed between the teams of Government Upper Primary School, Jhak, and Government Higher Secondary School, Mer Mandawara. Both teams displayed excellent performance, giving tough competition to each other.
As the match was tied at the end of the scheduled time, the winner was decided through a shootout. In the shootout, the Jhak team performed better and defeated Mer Mandawara by a score of 1-0 to win the match.
Senior Girls Team Also Victorious
Meanwhile, a friendly match was also organized in the girls' category. This match was between the senior and junior teams, in which the senior team, leveraging their experience, secured the win.

On this occasion, Block Sports In-charge Dalpat Singh Roda addressed the players. He shed light on the biography and sporting achievements of the hockey wizard Major Dhyan Chand. He called upon the players to take inspiration from his struggle, discipline, and dedication to the sport.
The program was successfully conducted by Hockey Coach Paramveer Singh Deora. He motivated the players to practice regularly and move forward with sportsmanship. He said, "Sports are not just a medium of competition, but an important means of developing discipline, self-confidence, and team spirit."
