Pachpadra Refinery: PM Modi's Inauguration Plan Changed
Balotra | A major change has been made to the inauguration program of the ambitious Pachpadra Refinery in Balotra, Rajasthan. The inauguration ceremony, to be led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on July 4th, will no longer be held as a massive public rally.

According to administrative sources, this decision was taken considering security reasons and weather challenges. The event will now be conducted within the refinery premises under a limited and disciplined protocol.

Why Was the Program Format Changed?

After the date was announced by Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, the district administration was busy with preparations. However, on Thursday, the construction of a large pandal outside the refinery was suddenly halted, signaling a change in plans.

There are several concrete reasons behind this change, with security being given the highest priority.

Security Became the Biggest Reason

This decision is directly linked to an incident in April. Notably, the Prime Minister's inauguration program was also scheduled for April 21, but a day earlier, a massive fire broke out in the refinery's Crude Distillation Unit (CDU), just 800 meters from the rally site.

Due to this accident, the PM's visit had to be canceled at the last minute. The refinery is a highly sensitive and 'Red Zone' industrial area, where gathering a crowd of millions was considered against safety standards.

According to sources, "The refinery is a sensitive area, and no risks can be taken. Security agencies had objected to bringing a large crowd near the plant."

Weather Also a Major Challenge

The month of July in Western Rajasthan is known for extreme heat, humidity, and dusty winds. Arranging for millions of people in an open pandal under such adverse conditions would have been a major administrative challenge and a health risk.

Considering all these factors, the administration decided to organize a brief and secure inauguration ceremony instead of a grand public meeting.

What Will the Program Be Like Now?

Under the new plan, PM Modi will inaugurate the project within the refinery complex in the presence of officials and select guests. However, the detailed itinerary of the program will be released only after final approval from the Prime Minister's Office (PMO).

This step will ensure that the inauguration of this prestigious national project is completed successfully without any risks, with safety and order being paramount.
