PM Modi inaugurated IMC 2026 at Yashobhoomi, New Delhi. He discussed the expansion of 5G, the role of mobile in governance, and the need for global cyber security.
PM Modi stated that digital divide was once a major challenge. However, 5G connectivity has now reached every corner of the country, benefiting remote areas.
The Prime Minister emphasized that in the last 10-12 years, the mobile phone has not remained just a means of conversation. It has now become a vital medium for governance, education, and digital services.
Due to cheap internet and a strong network, children in remote villages are receiving online education. Platforms like 'DIKSHA' have played a major role in the field of education.
Stating that network and phone security are government priorities, PM Modi expressed deep concern over cybercrimes. He said that cyber fraud has no geographical boundaries.
The Prime Minister suggested that the entire world should come together to create a global framework to stop online fraud. This will ensure cyber security at an international level.
PM Modi mentioned that about 50 crore people in India are associated with gaming and e-sports. This sector is opening new avenues of employment for the youth.
The content creation industry has now taken the form of thousands of crores of rupees. Due to the benefits of cheap data, Indian youth are making their mark globally in this field.
The theme of IMC 2026 is ‘Scale Without Boundaries’. In this four-day tech show, live demonstrations of 5G, 6G, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) are being shown.
For the first time, technologies like smart mobility and industrial robotics have been included in the exhibition. Innovations in the field of satellite communication and IoT are also centers of attraction.
