Virtually launching the 'Drug-Free Youth for Developed India' campaign, Prime Minister Narendra Modi called on all spiritual organizations to unite against drugs.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually launched the 'Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan' (Drug-Free Youth for a Developed India Resolution Campaign) on Sunday. This important event was broadcast live at the Diamond Hall of the Brahma Kumaris headquarters, Shantiwan, where many dignitaries and youth were present.
All Spiritual Organizations Must Work Together: PM Modi
On this occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi made an important appeal to all the spiritual organizations of the country. He said that each organization should lead this campaign across the country for one week, and the other organizations should join it.
He expressed confidence that if the organizations of our country work together in this direction for a hundred weeks, a very big and positive change can occur in the country.
125 Spiritual Organizations Join the Campaign
The Prime Minister informed that today 125 spiritual organizations from across the country have joined us. This campaign will continue in this manner for the next 100 weeks (on Sundays).
He also shared that thousands of students from schools, colleges, and universities have connected to this program online today. More than one crore youth from different regions and institutions of the country have become a part of this initiative together.
Healthy Youth Essential for a Developed India
Prime Minister Modi stated that for the success of the 'Viksit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan', it is essential that the country's youth are physically and mentally healthy and full of self-confidence.
Urging everyone to take a pledge, he said, "We all have to resolve that the youth understand the dangers of drugs and addiction. They should be aware of and stay away from all kinds of intoxication."
In this program, lakhs of youth took an oath of de-addiction and resolved to take this message to their schools, society, and every individual. Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, also expressed his views online.
Spirituality Will Provide the Right Direction: Minister Devasi
Present at the event, Rajasthan's Minister of State for Panchayati Raj, Rural Development, Disaster Management, Relief, and Civil Defence, Otaram Devasi, said that addiction is the root of destruction.
He said, "We have to save the coming generation from addiction. In today's era, spirituality is greatly needed. Only through this can the youth be given the right direction in life."
Devasi mentioned the global presence of the Brahma Kumaris institution and said that the institution can make an invaluable contribution to realizing the resolution of a drug-free nation.
Brahma Kumaris' Goal of 10 Crore Pledges
On this occasion, officials of the institution also shared their thoughts.
BK Karuna Bhai (Secretary-General): He said that drug-free youth are essential for building a developed India. The institution is running a campaign to get ten crore people to take a pledge of de-addiction.
Dr. BK Mrityunjay Bhai (Additional Secretary-General): He stated that we will all work together to achieve the goal set by the Prime Minister and make India drug-free.
Rajyogini BK Sudesh Didi (Joint Chief Administrator): She said that where there is determination, success is certain. It is very important to keep the youth away from drugs today.
Dr. Banarsi Lal (Medical Wing Secretary): He announced that a special de-addiction pledge mega-campaign will be conducted from August 2nd to August 20th, with the goal of getting ten crore people to take the pledge.

The program was conducted by BK Shivika Behen, Headquarters Coordinator of the Education Wing. On this occasion, MP Lumbaram Chaudhary, BJP leader Suresh Kothari, Mandal President Dashrath Singh, Babubhai Patel, Satish Sethi, and other officials of the institution were present.
