Bikaner | The Social Justice and Empowerment Department has taken a significant step towards making disabled persons self-reliant. Under the Mukhyamantri Vishesh Yogyajan Swarojgar Yojana, eligible disabled individuals are being provided loans of up to ₹5 lakh to start their own businesses.
Eligibility and Conditions of the Scheme
To avail the benefits of this scheme, the applicant must be a native of Rajasthan. Also, according to the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, they must have at least 40 percent disability.
The applicant's age should be between 18 and 55 years. Furthermore, the total annual income of the applicant and their family should not exceed ₹2 lakh.
LD Panwar, Joint Director of the Social Justice and Empowerment Department, stated that the objective of this scheme is to make disabled persons self-reliant by providing them with a respectable livelihood.
How and for Which Businesses Will the Loan Be Available?
A grant of 50 percent or a maximum of ₹50,000 will also be provided on the loan amount. Those who repay the loan on time will also get a special rebate of 5 percent on the interest rate.
Interested individuals can obtain this loan for several small businesses such as grocery stores, tailoring shops, beauty parlors, mobile repairing, tea houses, and book-stationery shops.
Eligible disabled persons can easily apply online through the DSAP portal on the SSO portal or by visiting an e-Mitra kiosk.
