Congress's Secret List: A Unique Ploy to Stop Rebellion
Jaipur |Political activity has intensified for the 2026 municipal body elections in Rajasthan. Adopting a unique strategy, Congress has not publicly released any official list of its candidates for fear of rebellion and sabotage.

After days of meetings, the party finalized the tickets in almost all districts on Sunday.

Congress's Strategy: No List, Direct Symbols

Instead of releasing a list of candidates, the party leadership has sent authorized symbols directly to the district presidents, district in-charges, and assembly in-charges.

These symbols will be presented before the Returning Officer (RO) on Monday. The party's priority now is to calm the anger of workers and prevent potential rebellion after the nominations.

Period of Disputes and Deliberation

Deciding tickets for Jaipur Municipal Corporation wards proved to be the most challenging, with deliberations continuing late into the evening. In Kota, state co-in-charge Poonam Paswan took charge, while the dispute over tickets in Bhilwara reached the central leadership in Delhi.

Setback for BJP in Bhawanimandi

Meanwhile, in Bhawanimandi of Jhalawar district, Congress dealt a major blow to the BJP. Senior BJP leader and former municipal chairman Ramlal Gurjar joined Congress along with his supporters. His move has upset the BJP's electoral calculations in Bhawanimandi.

Focus Now on Preventing Rebellion

After the nominations end on Monday, the biggest challenge for both parties will be to persuade dissatisfied leaders. Congress plans for senior leaders to immediately communicate with aspirants who did not get tickets.
