On the occasion of Teacher's Day, Additional Chief Secretary of the Education Department, Rajesh Yadav, has called upon teachers to plant 5 saplings under the 'One Teacher-5 Plants' campaign.
Yadav called for this initiative to be carried forward as the “One Teacher-5 Plants, a step towards Hariyalo Rajasthan” campaign. Its objective is to promote greenery in the state and spread awareness about environmental conservation.
He mentioned that the Education Department has achieved significant milestones under the Hariyalo Rajasthan campaign. The department set a record by planting 1.85 crore saplings in a single day in the year 2024-25.
Subsequently, in the year 2025-26, this number increased to over 4 crore. This year, the department's target is to plant 2.50 crore saplings, of which more than 2.10 crore have already been planted.
The Additional Chief Secretary appealed to teachers not only to plant new saplings but also to protect previously planted ones. He emphasized the necessity of ensuring the safety, fertilization, watering, and regular care of the planted saplings.
Yadav also urged teachers to upload pictures of their plantation activities on the “Hariyalo Rajasthan” app. Furthermore, he asked them to play their part in motivating students, parents, and society towards environmental protection.
