Chaturmas Festival in Kesuwa, Shankaracharya Arrives
Revdar |

The grand Shri Surabhi Harihar Chaturmas Aradhana Mahotsav began on Wednesday at Shri Abhinav Brajmandal Manorama Goloktirth Arbudaranya Nandgaon, Kesuwa. The event started in an atmosphere of faith, devotion, and spiritual joy.

This festival will be held from July 29 to September 26, 2026.

Auspicious Arrival and Divine Presence of Shankaracharya

The festival commenced under the holy presence of Gotrarishi Swami Shri Dattasharanandji Maharaj.

The auspicious entry of Paschimamnaya Shri Dwaraka Shardapithadhishwar Anantashrivibhushit Jagadguru Shankaracharya Swami Shri Sadanand Saraswatiji Maharaj was a special attraction for the devotees.

On the sacred occasion of Guru Purnima (Vyas Purnima), various religious rituals, including Go-pujan (cow worship) and Charan Paduka Pujan (worship of holy footwear), will be organized on Thursday morning.

Shankaracharya's Discourse on Guru-Tattva

In his divine address, Jagadguru Shankaracharya stated that Ashadha Shukla Purnima is the supreme festival for the worship of Guru-tattva (the principle of the Guru) in the Indian Sanatana Vedic tradition.

He described it not just as a celebration in memory of a great personality, but as a day of gratitude towards the unbroken tradition of knowledge.

Through this tradition, the divine light of self-knowledge and the path to liberation has flowed continuously from the Guru to the disciple.

Guru is Essential for Self-Realization

Shankaracharya said that the purpose of Vedanta is to make man realize his true nature—the eternal, pure, enlightened, and free soul.

Quoting the Upanishadic declaration "Tadvijnanartham sa gurumevabhigacchet," he said that self-knowledge is not possible without a Guru.

He clarified that a Guru does not give a new truth, but by removing the veil of ignorance through scriptural teachings, he makes the disciple experience his own divine nature (Brahmaswarup).

Dignified Presence of Saints and Devotees

On this occasion, the presence of many saints and mahatmas was felt, including Mahamandaleshwar Jankidas Ji Maharaj, Pujya Sant Shri Ramratan Das Ji Maharaj, and Mahant Shri Yogesh Das Ji Maharaj.

Other saints present included Shri Rishi Chaitanya Ji Maharaj, Shri Baldev Das Ji Maharaj, Shri Harinath Ji Maharaj, Shri Gopal Das Ji Maharaj, and Shri Sitaram Das Ji Maharaj.

Hundreds of cow devotees and followers, including Raghunath Singh Rajpurohit, Alok Singhal, Devaram Jagarwal, Pratapji Jaitpura, Sanvalaram Vagawas, Narendra Singh Dhanol, Balwant Rajpurohit (Ankhol), and Dhanraj Chaudhary, participated enthusiastically in the festival.

The entire campus became devotional with the religious atmosphere, Vedic chants, and the presence of saints.
