Shubham Rewar Firm on His Resolve
Despite serious health challenges and ICU monitoring, student leader Shubham Rewar is not ready to back down from his resolve. He has announced that he will continue his struggle from the hospital's ICU bed.
"The administration and the government can lift me from the protest site and put me on an ICU bed, put me on a drip, or place police guards, but my soul and the self-respect of the youth of Rajasthan will not bow down. My fast and satyagraha will continue uninterrupted as long as I am breathing. Until the government issues a written order for the 'Rajasthani Language Department' and 'Student Union Elections', the hospital bed will be my front."
What are the main demands?
The student leader and his supporters are protesting for two main demands, on which they do not want to compromise.
- Establishment of Rajasthani Language Department: A separate 'Rajasthani Language Department' should be immediately formed at Rajasthan University and the admission process should begin.
- Restoration of Student Union Elections: The democratic process of student union elections should be immediately restored in all universities and colleges of the state.
Shubham Rewar has made it clear that until the government issues written orders on both these demands, his hunger strike and satyagraha will continue, even if it is from an ICU bed in the hospital.
