Congress Candidate's Nomination Rejected, BJP Had Complained
Sirohi | Amidst the urban local body elections, big news has emerged from Sirohi, where a major upset in the electoral equations has been witnessed. The nomination form of Congress candidate Sundar Devi from Ward number 10 of the Sirohi Municipal Council has been rejected by the Returning Officer.

Following this action, local politics have heated up, and a new challenge has arisen for the Congress party.

BJP Had Filed an Objection

According to information, an objection was filed by the BJP candidate against the nomination of Congress candidate Sundar Devi. This objection was presented before the Returning Officer, Paramjit Singh.

The objection primarily cited issues related to the municipal council's no-dues certificate and encroachment, which were used as the basis to demand the cancellation of the nomination.

Congress's Arguments

During the hearing on the objection, Congress leader Dashrath Naruka and several advocates presented Sundar Devi's case. Congress argued that the candidate had already been issued a no-dues certificate by the municipal council.

Congress stated that in such a situation, it is not appropriate to reject the nomination based on non-payment. Additionally, Congress also questioned the notice issued regarding encroachment, calling it against the rules.

Allegation of Political Malice

Congress leader Dashrath Naruka alleged that the notice issued on August 31 regarding encroachment was entirely motivated by political malice.

During the hearing, Congress presented its arguments and related documents before the Returning Officer, but these arguments were not accepted.

Final Decision of the Returning Officer

After hearing the arguments from both sides, Returning Officer Paramjit Singh delivered his verdict. He canceled the nomination of Congress candidate Sundar Devi from Ward number 10.

With the nomination rejected, Congress now faces a new crisis regarding its electoral strategy in Ward 10. It remains to be seen what steps Congress will take next in this matter.
