Life in Sirohi is in crisis due to a collapsed sanitation system and dilapidated roads. Nagar Congress has demanded an immediate solution from the collector.
The Nagar Congress Committee has expressed its concern over the serious problem of the collapsed sanitation system and dilapidated roads in Sirohi city. On Monday, a memorandum was submitted to the District Collector demanding immediate action on these issues, so that the common citizens can get relief from their troubles.
City in Distress Due to Sanitation Workers' Strike
In the memorandum submitted under the leadership of Nagar Congress Committee President Puneet Kumar Jain, it was stated that the sanitation workers of the Municipal Council have been on strike since July 16, 2026.
As about 12 days have passed, the city's sanitation system has come to a complete halt. Regular cleaning work is not being done in all three zones of the Municipal Council.
Increasing Risk of Infectious Diseases
According to the memorandum, large piles of garbage have accumulated everywhere, emitting a strong stench.
Due to the rainy season, mosquitoes are breeding on these piles, which has significantly increased the risk of spreading infectious diseases like dengue and malaria.
City Roads Turned into Potholes
The memorandum also mentioned the poor condition of the city's roads. It was stated that most of the city's roads have turned into deep potholes.
During the rainy season, these potholes get filled with water, making it difficult for drivers to estimate their depth. As a result, accidents are happening frequently, and common people are facing great difficulties.
Nagar Congress's Demands to the Administration
The Nagar Congress has made some key demands to the district administration, which require immediate resolution.
Resolve the sanitation workers' strike as soon as possible and restore the regular cleaning system.
Repair all the damaged roads in the city on a priority basis and fill the potholes.
A special cleanliness drive should be conducted in view of the rainy season.
Ensure regular fogging and spraying of insecticides in the city.
'Will Protest for Public Interest'
On this occasion, Nagar Congress President Puneet Kumar Jain warned the administration.
This is not just an issue of sanitation and roads, but a serious matter of public interest related to the health and safety of the city's residents. If the administration does not take effective steps soon, the Nagar Congress will be forced to launch a mass movement in the interest of the general public.
The delegation that submitted the memorandum included Nagar Congress President Puneet Kumar Jain, along with former Deputy Chairman Jitendra Singhi, Ishwar Singh Dabi, Babu Khan, Anil Rawal, Jyoti Tolani, Vinod Deora, Sundar Mali, Bharat Dhawal, Kantilal, Prakash Dhawal, Uttam Patel, and Praveen Nadola, among many other Congress workers.
