Reduction in Retail Prices of Sugar
According to the released price list, the average retail price of sugar fell to ₹59.01 per kilogram on Sunday. This price was at ₹59.92 per kilogram on Saturday, providing slight relief to consumers.
Retail Sugar Prices in Major Cities
However, according to data from ChiniMandi, there was no significant difference in the retail prices of sugar in major cities on Saturday. The prices in various cities were as follows:
- Delhi: ₹55 per kg
- Kanpur: ₹53 per kg
- Raipur: ₹55 per kg
- Mumbai: ₹54 per kg
- Ranchi: ₹55 per kg
- Kolkata: ₹55 per kg
- Guwahati: ₹56 per kg
- Hyderabad: ₹54 per kg
- Chennai: ₹58 per kg
Onion Prices Also Decrease
Along with sugar, onion prices also saw a decline on Sunday. The average retail price of onion dropped to ₹52.72 per kilogram on Sunday.
On Saturday, this price was ₹53.65 per kilogram. However, compared to a month ago, the prices are still high. A month ago, the price was ₹36.26 per kg, and a year ago, it was ₹27.62 per kilogram.
What's the Status of Edible Oils?
Fluctuations were also seen in the prices of edible oils. The prices of mustard and soybean oil have decreased, while sunflower oil has become slightly more expensive.
Mustard and Soybean Oil Cheaper
The average retail price of mustard oil has also declined. It fell to ₹199.97 per kilogram on Sunday, whereas it was ₹201.34 per kilogram on Saturday.
Similarly, the price of soybean oil also saw a slight decline, standing at ₹165.75 per kilogram on Sunday. It was ₹165.92 per kilogram on Saturday.
Slight Increase in Sunflower Oil
On the other hand, a marginal increase was recorded in the price of sunflower oil. Its price rose to ₹193.29 per kilogram, up from ₹193.04 per kilogram on Saturday.
