Meanwhile, in the wholesale market, prices have also fallen by about Rs 150 per quintal. It is believed that efforts made by the government have reduced the pressure on sugar supply, the effect of which is visible on prices.

While sugar has provided relief, the prices of onions and tomatoes have slightly increased. According to the Department of Consumer Affairs, the daily average domestic price of onions rose from Rs 53.10 on Thursday to Rs 53.62 per kilogram on Friday.
Similarly, the average retail price of tomatoes also saw a marginal increase from Rs 39.19 to Rs 39.22 per kilogram.
A mixed trend was seen in the edible oil market. On Friday, the average retail price of mustard oil was Rs 201.95 per kilogram with a slight decline.
The price of groundnut oil also fell slightly to Rs 209.23 per kilogram. Meanwhile, the price of soybean oil remained stable at Rs 166.28 per kilogram, while the price of sunflower oil saw a slight increase, reaching Rs 193.28 per kilogram.
