Young batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi was dismissed for 92 in the Duleep Trophy 2026 semi-final. This is the 7th time this year he has missed scoring a century, highlighting his nervous 90s issue again.
In the first semi-final of the Duleep Trophy 2026, young batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi played another brilliant innings but once again missed out on a century.
Playing against Central Zone, he played an aggressive innings of 92 runs, which included 7 fours and 7 sixes. However, upon nearing his century, he lost his wicket and returned to the pavilion disappointed.
During this innings, Vaibhav set a major record. He completed his half-century in just 42 balls, becoming the youngest cricketer to score a fifty in the history of the Duleep Trophy.
Despite this, at a score of 92, he attempted to complete his century with a six and was caught on the boundary line.
This is the seventh time this year that Vaibhav Suryavanshi has been dismissed after getting close to a century. This weakness of his is consistently emerging, for which he has received advice multiple times.
Even in a tournament like the Duleep Trophy with no over limits, he did not show patience and threw his wicket away after facing 81 balls.
Vaibhav's nervous 90s problem has been evident on several important occasions this year.
After the IPL, many veterans advised him to be patient. He was then given a chance in the India A team, where he scored the fastest half-century in List A history (in 11 balls) against Sri Lanka A, but in that match too, he was out for 94 runs on the 29th ball.
Following that, during his international debut against Zimbabwe, he also missed a century and was dismissed for 81 runs.
