Yamuna Water Pact: CM Bhajanlal's Grand Welcome in Jaipur
Jaipur | Following the historic signing of the Yamuna water agreement, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma received an unprecedented welcome upon his arrival in Jaipur. Thousands of workers, led by BJP State President Madan Rathore, expressed their joy by congratulating the Chief Minister.

A Festive Atmosphere from Airport to CM Residence

The enthusiasm of public representatives, BJP officials, and workers from the Shekhawati region was palpable. The route from Jaipur Airport to the Chief Minister's residence was adorned in festive colors.

Workers welcomed the Chief Minister at key locations like Kanodia College, Rambagh Circle, and the BJP state office with flower showers and garlands.

The atmosphere at the BJP office was particularly vibrant, where folk artists from Shekhawati greeted the Chief Minister with traditional songs to the beat of drums.

A Welcome Dedicated to the Workers

Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma credited the party workers for this grand welcome. Addressing the BJP State President, he said that this honor was not his, but that of every worker from the booth level to the state level.

A Historic Achievement for Shekhawati: CM Sharma

Addressing the felicitation ceremony at the BJP state office, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma described the agreement as a historic achievement. He credited it to the skilled leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Work Completed in Record Time

The Chief Minister stated that the state government gave top priority to the Yamuna water project. A joint task force was formed immediately after the government's formation on February 17, 2024.

Subsequently, the DPR was prepared swiftly, and this important agreement was concluded on June 29, 2026. He thanked Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Union Jal Shakti Minister C.R. Patil for their cooperation.

Ambitious Plan of 34 Thousand Crores

CM Sharma said that this ambitious project of Rs 34,000 crore will change the face of a large part of the state, including Shekhawati. Under this scheme, water will be transported through three massive pipelines.

He said this would bring great relief to farmers who have been facing water problems for years. Reaffirming his resolve, the Chief Minister said, “In the Assembly, we had said that we will keep doing, you will keep watching, and today the government is implementing its resolutions on the ground.”

Sharp Attack on Congress

The Chief Minister strongly criticized Congress for ignoring this issue despite being in power for decades. He said that Congress never seriously pursued the Yamuna water project.

"Not Gold from Potatoes, Now the Land Will Yield Gold"

Taking a jibe at Congress, the Chief Minister said that some people used to talk about “making gold from potatoes.” He said that the BJP does not make such claims but assures that when the farmers of Shekhawati get water, this land will yield gold.

“The BJP does not claim to make gold from potatoes, but it certainly assures that when the farmers of Shekhawati get water, this land will yield gold.”

He alleged that Congress used to mislead the public with only foundation stones and announcements without any concrete plan when elections were near, whereas the BJP government has shown results by working on the ground.

"Can't Understand What's Playing"

The Chief Minister took a swipe at Congress leaders, comparing them to a wedding band that plays loudly but no one can understand what is being played.

He said that the situation of Congress has become similar, where different and contradictory statements from leaders try to confuse the public.

Confluence of Development and Heritage

CM Sharma said that Shekhawati is not just a land of development but also a repository of rich cultural heritage. The government is also committed to preserving this heritage.

600 Havelis to be Conserved

He informed that the state government has identified more than 600 havelis in the region for conservation and tourism development. The government is working towards advancing both heritage and development together.

Goal of Employment and Holistic Development

The Chief Minister expressed confidence that after the arrival of Yamuna water, the land of Shekhawati will be covered in greenery. This will increase agricultural production, boost tourism, and create new employment opportunities.

He said that the government's goal is to explore vast possibilities in the fields of education, tourism, industry, and agriculture to ensure the overall development of the region.

Madan Rathore Calls Him 'Modern Bhagirath'

On this occasion, BJP State President Madan Rathore, while felicitating Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, called him 'Vikas Purush' (Man of Development) and 'Modern Bhagirath'.

A Long-standing Dream Realized

Rathore said that the Chief Minister has realized a long-standing dream of crores of people in Shekhawati and Rajasthan. He recalled that in 1994, then-Chief Minister Bhairon Singh Shekhawat had made efforts in this direction, but Congress governments shelved it.

He also thanked Prime Minister Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Jal Shakti Minister CR Patil, and Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini for this historic agreement.

Jibe at Congress Leaders

Madan Rathore also targeted Congress leaders. He sarcastically remarked that water will come to Shekhawati from the Yamuna through three large pipelines.

He said, “Congress leaders Gehlot, Dotasra, and Juli can even drive trucks in these pipelines if they want.” Rathore criticized former Chief Minister Gehlot, saying he could have made history by welcoming the Chief Minister at the airport today.

The Yamuna water agreement will not only prove to be a lifeline for Shekhawati but is also a major political achievement for the Bhajanlal government. This agreement will open new doors for agriculture, industry, and tourism in the region, thereby accelerating overall development.
