Balotra: Mother Ends Life With 2 Sons in Water Tank

Balotra | A heart-wrenching incident has come to light from Balotra district in Rajasthan, where a woman ended her life along with her two innocent children. A wave of mourning has spread throughout the village, and the family is devastated.

In Dudhwa village of the Pachpadra police station area, a married woman jumped into a water tank near her house with her two sons early on Tuesday. All three died on the spot in this tragic accident.

A Happy Family Silenced Forever

A cheerful family, where the laughter of two young children once echoed, has suddenly fallen silent forever. This world, built over just four years of marriage, has been shattered.

Drastic Step Taken in the Dead of Night

According to preliminary information, the incident is said to have occurred around 3 AM on Monday night.

In the deep silence of the night, Muli Devi (wife of Hanumana Ram Prajapat) left the house with her two young sons.

With her were her elder son Ravindra, who was just two and a half years old, and her younger son Narayan, who was only two months old.

Slippers Revealed the Secret in the Morning

When other family members woke up around 5 AM on Tuesday, they did not find Muli Devi and the two children at home. They were shocked.

The family immediately began searching for them. While searching the house and surrounding areas, their eyes fell on the water tank near the house, where Muli Devi's slippers were found.

All Three Bodies Recovered from the Tank

Seeing the slippers outside the tank, the family and villagers feared something untoward had happened. They immediately informed the Pachpadra police station.

Upon receiving the information, a police team reached the spot and local divers were sent into the tank.

The divers recovered the bodies of Muli Devi, her two-and-a-half-year-old son Ravindra, and the 2-month-old infant Narayan from the water. The sight was heart-wrenching for everyone present.

With the help of villagers, the police moved all three bodies to the mortuary of the Government Nahata Hospital in Balotra for post-mortem.

Marriage Under 'Aata-Sata' Custom

Initial police investigation revealed that Muli Devi, daughter of Nimbaram Prajapat from Khokhsar, was married to Hanumana Ram Prajapat from Dudhwa about four years ago.

The marriage was conducted under the traditional 'Aata-Sata' custom, where Muli Devi's family also arranged their son's marriage into the same family.

Hanumana Ram's family earned their livelihood through manual labor. In their four years of married life, they had two sons, but this happy family was shattered in an instant.

Police Investigation Underway

Pachpadra police station's CI Babulal DAU stated that the police team reached the spot as soon as they received the information.

After the post-mortem, the three bodies were handed over to the family for the last rites.

The preliminary reason behind this drastic step is believed to be family discord. However, the police have not yet officially confirmed this.

According to the CI, no case has been filed by the woman's paternal family yet. The police are investigating the matter from all angles, and further legal action will be taken based on the medical report.
