A special feature of this conference is that a Member of Parliament from Rajasthan will also participate. Rajkumar Rot, the Bharat Adivasi Party (BAP) MP from the Banswara-Dungarpur seat, will address the conference.
He shared this information on the social media platform X and also sought suggestions from the public.
Sought Suggestions from People
In a social media post, Rajkumar Rot urged people to send their suggestions on important issues related to the tribal community.
"This is not just my opportunity, but a chance to bring the voice of crores of tribals of the country to the world stage. I urge all of you to send me any important issues and suggestions related to water, forest, land, constitution, forest rights, education, health, culture, language, displacement, or any other issue concerning the tribal society."
Rot stated that he would try to raise the people's suggestions on this global platform of the United Nations.
Why is this platform special?
According to the Bharat Adivasi Party, this is the same UN platform that played a significant role in giving global recognition to World Indigenous Day (August 9) and strengthening tribal rights worldwide.
Who is Rajkumar Rot?
Rajkumar Rot won the assembly election from the Chorasi seat in 2018 on a Bharatiya Tribal Party (BTP) ticket.
He later played a key role in the formation of the Bharat Adivasi Party (BAP).
In 2023, Rot became an MLA from BAP and then contested the Lok Sabha elections from the Banswara-Dungarpur seat in 2024.
In this election, he defeated Mahendrajeet Malviya, a prominent leader of the tribal region in Rajasthan.
