Bikaner | A major action has been carried out against illegal gypsum mining in the Dantor area of Bikaner district. The Mines Department seized several vehicles involved in illegal mining during a surprise inspection, causing a stir among the mining mafia in the area.
Major Action by the Mines Department
Mining Engineer (ME) Mahesh Purohit of the Mines Department provided information about this action. He stated that the department had received confidential information about large-scale illegal gypsum excavation in the Dantor area.
Based on this information, a special team from the department was formed and a raid was conducted at the site.
Four Vehicles Seized from the Spot
When the departmental team arrived at the location, illegal mining activities were ongoing. The team took action and seized two JCB machines, one empty dumper, and one tractor. It was found during the investigation that all these vehicles were engaged in illegal mining work.
Vehicles Handed Over to Police
Mahesh Purohit further stated that all the seized vehicles have been handed over to the Dantor police station with immediate effect. A case is being registered by the police in this matter, and further legal action is being taken. The department is taking this matter very seriously.
Department's Strict Stance on Illegal Mining
ME Purohit clarified that the Mines Department is fully committed to preventing illegal mining. He said that continuous monitoring is being carried out in various areas of the district to curb such activities.
He warned, "Strict action will be taken against those mining without a valid lease, permission, or approval, and the culprits will not be spared under any circumstances."

According to departmental officials, illegal gypsum mining not only causes a huge loss of revenue to the government but also has a very adverse effect on the environmental balance. Keeping this in mind, the Mines Department has launched a special campaign against illegal mining. Officials have assured that such actions will continue in the future.
