The Elementary Education Department has begun preparations for the Class 5 and 8 exams 2027. Schools are instructed to update all records on the Shala Darpan portal before applications.
The Elementary Education Department has expedited preparations for the Class 5 Primary Education Learning Level Assessment Examination 2027 and the Class 8 Elementary Education Completion Certificate Examination 2027. In this regard, Director of Education Lalit Kumar has issued important instructions.
He has directed all District Institutes of Education and Training (DIETs) and Chief Block Education Officers to complete all necessary preparations before the online application process begins.
According to the instructions issued by the department, the online application process for the examinations of both classes will begin in August-September 2026.
These applications will be accepted through the Shala Darpan examination portal. Meanwhile, these examinations are proposed to be held in February 2027.
The Education Director's order clearly states that to avoid mistakes during the application process and the complex procedure of subsequent corrections, it is essential that preparations are completed at all levels in advance.
This will ensure the entire process is smooth and completed in a timely manner.
The department has instructed schools to update several crucial pieces of data to ensure no information remains incomplete or incorrect.
The instructions state that if there is any error in a student's name, parents' names, or date of birth, it should be corrected as per the rules through Shala Darpan Form No. 5 and 9.
Additionally, all schools must correctly update their administrative details on the portal, such as their profile, block, district, PEEO/UCEO area, school category, and recognition status.
The department has also clarified that government or private schools, madrasas, Urdu medium, or Sanskrit schools that are recognized but not yet registered on the portal must complete their online registration compulsorily before the application process begins.
Furthermore, private schools affiliated with special category boards will have to update their board recognition status on the PSP portal.
The order also mentions that schools affiliated with CBSE do not participate in these examinations. Therefore, the application tabs for Class 5 and 8 will not be displayed on their login.
Concerned CBEEOs and DIET offices have been instructed to promptly complete the procedure for limiting access and locking for such schools.
For Class 8 students, any necessary changes in the third language subject mapping have been ordered to be made immediately.
Instructions have also been issued to resolve pending cases related to the online class updation of students studying under RTE at the district level and to correct the records.
The department has emphasized that all pending cases related to student data or other online corrections at the school, block, or district level should be resolved on a priority basis in the interest of the students.
