Jaipur | The results of the long-pending re-polling for four wards of Jaipur Municipal Corporation 2026 have brought a major turn in the city's politics. In the results declared on Thursday, all four seats went to the Congress. With this clean sweep, the Congress's tally has increased from 53 to 57, while the BJP stands at 78 seats and 15 independents have won. Although the BJP is just 2 seats ahead of the majority mark of 76 in the 150-member board, the fear of the 2019 'Vishnu Lata incident' and the combined strength of 72 from Congress and independents have increased the BJP's heartbeat. Now, from RSS officials to two Union Ministers, there has been a direct entry into the BJP regarding the contenders for the post of Mayor, making the Jaipur Mayor election complicated and politically sensitive.
