During 'Biparjoy' in June 2023, extremely heavy rainfall was recorded in the state. An average of 86.6 mm of rain fell in Rajasthan in 96 hours, which was about 20 percent of the seasonal normal rainfall.
According to Radheshyam Sharma, Director of the Meteorological Center, some cyclonic storms arising in the Arabian Sea move towards the Gujarat coast and can enter Rajasthan after weakening.
At the same time, the weak remnants of storms from the Bay of Bengal move from Central India and can affect the weather of Rajasthan. In the case of Arnab too, rain and strong winds occurred due to the combination of moisture and other weather systems.
Relief for farmers
The rain has benefited the Rabi crop. The sowing of mustard is currently underway. Farmers will not have to irrigate.
The increase in soil moisture will also benefit the upcoming wheat and gram crops.
The festival of Diwali is next week. Due to the rain, the day and night temperatures have started to drop. In such a situation, people may have to resort to warm clothes before Diwali.
