Don't Relieve Teachers Without Replacement: Sanyam Lodha
Sirohi |

Former Chief Minister's advisor and former MLA Sanyam Lodha has raised an important issue regarding the transfer of teachers in the education department. He has written a letter to the Additional Chief Secretary of the Education Department, Rajesh Yadav, expressing concern over the shortage of teachers in Sirohi district.

Allegation of Ignoring Chief Secretary's Order

In his letter, Sanyam Lodha cited an order issued by the state's Chief Secretary on October 11, 2019.

He reminded that according to this order, there is already a ban on removing teachers from Sirohi district without any replacement.

Lodha stated that even if a transfer is made for a special reason, the teacher cannot be relieved from duty until another teacher takes their place. He urged for strict compliance with this order.

Order Was Issued on High Court's Directive

Lodha mentioned that this order was issued in compliance with the directions given on his Public Interest Litigation (PIL) pending in the Rajasthan High Court.

The Chief Secretary, through his letter number P 1 (124) GV/Anu-8/NITI Aayog/2017, had directed all departments not to remove any personnel from aspirational districts without a replacement.

He expressed regret that this important order of the Chief Secretary is not being complied with, which is negatively impacting the district's education system.

Sirohi Grappling with Teacher Shortage

In the letter, Lodha also mentioned the recent transfer lists. He wrote that in the transfer lists issued in the last 10 days (by July 8, 2026), the education department has sent 73 teachers out of Sirohi district.

In contrast, only 23 new teachers have been posted in Sirohi district. Thus, the district is now short of 50 more teachers.

He pointed out that there are dozens of primary schools in the district that are running with just a single teacher.

Furthermore, there are at least 20 senior secondary schools where only 3 to 4 teachers are employed, which is very low considering the number of students.

Urged to Bind the District Collector

Keeping the future of the district's children in mind, Sanyam Lodha stated that it is extremely necessary that no teacher be removed without a replacement.

He urged the Additional Chief Secretary of the Education Department, Rajesh Yadav, to consider the Chief Secretary's 2019 order in relation to the issued transfer orders.

Lodha demanded that the Sirohi District Collector be bound not to relieve any personnel from the education department or any other department who has been removed without a replacement.
