Iyer admitted that the team dropped some important catches during the match, which helped England post a big score.
On the choice of delivery, he said, "Especially on this track where it was a belter, we could have probably bluffed, but we also dropped some catches, which probably cost us a bit in the total."
He further added, "If those catches were taken, we would have been chasing a target of around 220 to 225. It would have probably been one of the best chases we could have managed. But unfortunately, we didn't get that chance. Hopefully, as we mentioned earlier, this is a very good learning experience."
The Indian team lost several wickets in the powerplay while chasing the target, which increased the pressure on the team.
On losing wickets in the powerplay, Shreyas said, "We lost in clusters and instead of building partnerships, we were going after the chase, which you can't particularly do on these wickets."
Speaking on strategy, he said, "I think you probably need to have that kind of awareness. So take some time and target your specific bowlers."
In the end, Iyer praised the England bowlers. He said, "I felt their execution in bowling was spot on. They have played a lot of cricket here. So I am pretty sure they were at the top of their mark."
