Villagers in Pindwara, Sirohi, have collectively decided to boycott upcoming Panchayati Raj elections to protest a mining project by M/s Kamlesh Metacast Pvt Ltd.
The villagers have unanimously decided that they will not vote until the proposed mining project of M/s Kamlesh Metacast Private Limited is completely cancelled.
Under this boycott, villagers will not participate in the elections for Zila Parishad members, Panchayat Samiti members, and Sarpanch positions. They have made it clear that this protest will continue until their demands are met.
This proposed mining project is set to affect about a dozen villages under four gram panchayats in the area. This is the reason for the deep dissatisfaction among the local people.
