Bikaner | A serious case of attempting to grab claim money by defrauding an insurance company has come to light. A private hospital in Jaipur is accused of preparing fake documents in the name of a senior doctor from Bikaner's PBM Hospital and sending a surgery bill for an insurance claim. Based on the doctor's complaint, the police have now registered a case and started an investigation.
The Entire Fake Insurance Claim Case
This entire case is linked to Anjana Hospital, located in Virat Nagar, Jaipur. It is alleged that the hospital misused the name of Dr. Manohar Lal Davan, a Senior Professor and Head of the Surgery Department at PBM Hospital in Bikaner.
The hospital allegedly prepared fake and forged documents in Dr. Davan's name. Based on these documents, surgery bills were created and sent to the insurance company for the claim.
How Was the Case Uncovered?
This fraud was uncovered when insurance company officials contacted the doctor as part of their procedure. The company officials called Dr. Davan to confirm whether he had actually performed the surgery on the patient admitted to the concerned hospital in Jaipur.
In response, Dr. Davan clearly denied it. He stated that he is employed at the government's PBM Hospital in Bikaner and has not performed any surgery on any patient at the said private hospital in Jaipur.
Dr. Davan has alleged that an attempt was made to deceive the insurance company by misusing his name. He has also expressed apprehension that other similar fake bills might have been sent to various insurance companies in his name.
He has demanded a detailed investigation into the entire matter so that all related bills and documents can be brought to light. In this regard, Dr. Davan has filed a report against the in-charge and relevant staff of Anjana Hospital at the Jayanarayan Vyas Colony police station in Jaipur. He has demanded strict action against the culprits.
Police Begin Investigation
According to Investigating Officer ASI Pancharam, based on the doctor's report, the police have registered a case under various sections of the BNS. The police have initiated an investigation into the matter.
The police will now thoroughly investigate the documents prepared at the hospital, surgery records, and the claim sent to the insurance company. Additionally, it will be determined how many bills have been prepared in Dr. Davan's name so far and who is involved in this entire fraud.
