Bikaner | A major campaign against organized crime and drug trafficking is being conducted in Bikaner under the direction of District Superintendent of Police, Mridul Kachhawa. This campaign, named "Operation Neelkanth," has seen the police take significant action against drug smugglers.

Operation Neelkanth: Police Crackdown on Smugglers

The Sadar police station has carried out a significant action under "Operation Neelkanth." The police have frozen illegal properties acquired through drug trafficking to financially weaken the smugglers' network.

This action was taken under the orders of the competent authority as per Section 68F of the NDPS Act. In this operation, the police targeted two habitual smuggler families.

Illegal Assets Worth 1.79 Crores Frozen

According to information provided by the police, assets totaling Rs 1,79,05,609 from both families have been frozen. These assets include houses, agricultural land, and money deposited in bank accounts.

Residential Houses and Bank Accounts Included

The details of the frozen properties are as follows:

  • Residential house of Sattar Ali alias Bhutta in Bhutto ka Bas, valued at Rs 30 lakh.
  • A second house in Fattipura Gali, valued at Rs 1 crore 10 lakh.
  • Rs 8,49,305 deposited in the SBI Krishi Upaj Mandi branch account of Pari, daughter of Shehzad.
  • Rs 8,40,274 deposited in the bank account of Shehzad, son of Inayat Ali.
  • Cash recovered from Shehzad amounting to Rs 4,16,030.

Agricultural Land Also Frozen

Additionally, the police have also frozen agricultural land linked to the smuggler family.

  • 3.58 bighas of agricultural land belonging to Firoz alias Jaggu, son of Shehzad, in Chak 16 JMD, valued at Rs 20 lakh.
  • 4.32 bighas of agricultural land in Chak 18 JMD, valued at Rs 28 lakh.

Long Criminal History of Accused Families

The Sadar police station reported that these families have a long criminal record. A total of 37 serious cases are registered against the Sattar Ali family.

These include 9 cases against Sattar Ali, 13 against his son Sikandar Ali, 9 against Sajid Khan, 3 against Anish, and 3 against Sahil.

According to the police, Sikandar, Sajid, and Sahil are history-sheeters, while a history sheet has also been opened for Sattar Ali.

Goal is to Break Financial Backbone of Drug Trade: SP

Regarding this action, SP Mridul Kachhawa said that other drug smugglers in the district are also being identified under "Operation Neelkanth."

He stated that the investigation into the illegal income and properties of these criminals is ongoing. Other properties acquired through smuggling will also be frozen soon. The SP emphasized that the main objective of the police is to break the financial backbone of the drug trade, and such actions will continue in the future.
