Education Dept Strict on Women Harassment, Minister to Meet

Instructions Issued to Officials

Director of Secondary Education, Sitaram Jat, has instructed all Divisional Joint Directors and Chief District Education Officers to immediately provide the necessary information in the context of this meeting.

According to the instructions, information has been sought regarding the Grievance Redressal Committees (Vishakha Committee) formed at various levels under the 'Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013'.

Review of Cases Since December 2023

Director of Secondary Education, Sitaram Jat, has specifically requested information on all complaints and cases presented before these committees from December 2023 to date, in a prescribed format.

Education Minister Madan Dilawar has sought a detailed report on the status of action taken on Vishakha-related complaints, such as molestation, rape, and character assassination, and pending cases in all offices and schools of the education department.
