Universities Must Intellectually Empower Students: Governor

On the 40th foundation day of Swami Keshwanand Agricultural University in Bikaner, the Governor urged to intellectually empower students. Union Minister Meghwal was awarded the Doctor of Science degree.

Universities Must Intellectually Empower Students: Governor
Bikaner | Governor Shri Hari Bhau Bagde has stated that it is the responsibility of higher educational institutions to provide students with better education and also to empower them intellectually. He said that with the contribution of youth grateful to the nation, the country can be made more capable and strong.

University's 40th Foundation Day

Governor Bagde was addressing the 40th foundation day ceremony of Swami Keshwanand Rajasthan Agricultural University and the Dr. K. N. Memorial Lecture Series in Bikaner on Saturday.

He mentioned that in the last 40 years, the university has achieved immense accomplishments. So far, more than 28,000 students have received agricultural education and degrees from here.

The Governor also directed that a record of alumni who have brought glory to the university in the country and the world should be maintained.

Call to Students

The Governor called upon students to appear for high-level examinations like UPSC and RPSC after obtaining their degrees, so they can also be part of policy-making.

Bagde said that intellectually empowering students is the biggest need of the day. He also spoke about giving girls opportunities to move forward.

Union Minister Meghwal's Address

Union Minister of State for Law and Justice (Independent Charge), Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal, announced that the Government of India's India AI Mission has approved a Center of Excellence for agriculture under Industry 4.0 at the university.

He stated that ₹20 crore will be spent on it, which will prove beneficial for the region's farmers and agricultural researchers.

Meghwal also noted that 45 percent of the country's workforce is based in agriculture, hence there is a need for innovation in agricultural production.

Doctor of Science Degree

During the event, the Governor conferred the university's highest academic degree, 'Doctor of Science', upon Union Minister Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal.

On this occasion, books published by the university, 'Parivartan, Pragati aur Pratibaddhata' and 'An Introduction to Agricultural Production, Functions and Linear Program', were also released.

Inauguration of Drone Training Center

Earlier, Governor Shri Bagde inaugurated the drone training center, authorized by DGCA, New Delhi, and to be operated by the SKRAU Remote Pilot Training Organization.

He planted a Molsari sapling on the university campus and also observed an exhibition organized by various departments. Registrar Shri Devaram Saini expressed his gratitude to all.
