Mount Abu municipality demolishes illegal construction at Hotel Mini Mount, located opposite Gomukh Road, amid ongoing violations despite High Court orders.
The trend of illegal construction in Mount Abu shows no signs of stopping. Despite all efforts by the administration, strict orders from the High Court are also being continuously violated. In this sequence, the municipality carried out a major action on Wednesday.
The municipality demolished the illegal construction at Hotel Mini Mount, located right opposite Gomukh Road on the main thoroughfare of Mount Abu.
This incident occurred on Wednesday when the municipality team took action to demolish the illegal construction at Hotel Mini Mount. This construction had been ongoing for some time and was in public view as it was on the main road.
The municipality's illegal construction squad visited the site, found the construction to be illegal, and demolished it with immediate effect.
What was the construction plan?
According to information received from the Municipal Commissioner, preparations were being made for a large construction by erecting five to six columns at Hotel Mini Mount.
This construction was taking place in the inner rear part of the hotel. The plan was to build a room over a large space by erecting these columns, which was foiled by the municipality's team.
The most worrying aspect is that this illegal construction was taking place just two months after the Rajasthan High Court had passed strict orders on 14 points regarding illegal construction in Mount Abu.
A division bench of the Chief Justice and a senior judge had also given instructions for compliance, with special emphasis on environmental protection. Despite all this, the continuation of illegal construction is living proof of administrative failure.
Questions Raised on Administration's Functioning
This entire process raises serious questions about the functioning of the sub-divisional administration and the municipality. It seems that wherever a construction is demolished, a new one starts again after some time.
The repeated cycle of illegal construction and its subsequent demolition clearly proves the municipality's failure.
When attempts were made to get information from the Municipal Commissioner and other officials on the phone or in person, no one provided any information or received the calls.
Later, only some pictures and videos were sent by the municipality, in an attempt to show that they are vigilant against illegal construction. However, this action appears to be a mere formality.
Officials Present During the Action
During this operation, Ayan Navodit Singh, Shilpa Bist, Public Health In-charge Ramesh, Tarun Jamadar, Manish Jamadar, and their team were present at the scene.
