Karauli | Irrigation water release from Panchna Dam, Asia's largest clay dam located in Rajasthan's Karauli district, finally commenced on Tuesday morning at 5 AM.

This comes after a technical glitch on Monday, shortly after the Water Resources Minister opened the gates, halted the water flow completely.

Technical Glitch Triggers Farmers' Protest

On Monday afternoon, as the main gate fell back down and stopped the water flow, massive anger erupted among the command area farmers.

Angry farmers blocked roads by parking tractor-trolleys at Kusay, Gadholi, Kaimla, and Katkad crossings, halting traffic on the Hindaun-Mahaveerji-Nadoti route.

Heavy traffic jams persisted throughout Monday evening as farmers raised slogans against the administration, creating a tense situation.

NDRF and Divers Work Overnight

The administration took immediate action to resolve the critical technical fault. NDRF teams and expert divers were summoned to the site urgently.

Superintending Engineer of Water Resources Department Jaipur, Vijay Kumar Sharma, shared official details about the overnight operation.
