JAIPUR | The central government has taken a major step to expand the railway network in Rajasthan. Along with the Khatushyamji rail line, five other significant rail projects are gaining momentum, set to revolutionize connectivity across several districts of the state.

Major Boost for Khatushyamji

Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has announced the construction of a railway station for Khatushyamji at Sundarpura in Sikar district. This will facilitate the journey for millions of devotees from across the country.

The Railway Minister also inspected the proposed site and released its map.

The minister stated that construction work is expected to begin in the next eight to ten months.

The new station will increase the number of trains to Khatushyamji and establish direct rail connectivity from various parts of India.

5 Other Projects to Transform Connectivity

In addition to Khatushyamji, work is speeding up on five other new rail lines in the state, which will pave the way for new development.

Marwar Bagra-Sirohi-Swarupganj Project

Under this project, a 96 km new rail line will be laid from Marwar Bagra in Jalore to Swarupganj via Sirohi. This will connect the Sirohi district headquarters to the railway network for the first time, directly benefiting 1 million people.

Balotra-Pachpadra Rail Project

This 11 km line from Balotra to Pachpadra will ease transportation to the Pachpadra refinery. The survey is complete, and the Detailed Project Report (DPR) will be sent for approval.

Bilara-Ras Rail Project

This 58 km long line from Bilara in Jodhpur to Ras in Pali will reduce the distance between Beawar and Jodhpur from 191 km to 133 km, saving time and money for passengers.

Dholpur-Gangapur City via Karauli Project

This 145 km project will be completed in two phases. In the first phase, gauge conversion work from Dholpur to Sarmathura is underway and is expected to be completed by next year.

Strengthening Network in Border Areas

The rail network is also being strengthened in districts adjacent to the India-Pakistan border. New lines will be laid from Khajuwala to Jaisalmer (260 km) and from Bhildi to Jaisalmer via Barmer (380 km).

New Impetus for Development

The completion of these rail projects will not only make travel easier for passengers but also boost industrial development, trade, and tourism. This will prove to be a milestone in the overall development of Rajasthan.
