Around 50 students of a tribal girls' hostel in Sirohi protested at the collectorate against poor food quality and misbehavior by the warden.
The protesting students alleged that the quality of the food served to them is extremely poor.
They claimed that worms have been found in their food on several occasions, posing a serious health risk.
The students also complained that when they speak to the hostel warden about these issues, she misbehaves with them.
According to the students, the warden uses abusive language and derogatory words like "You are all uncivilized."
District Collector Rohitaswa Singh Tomar took the students' complaints seriously. He interacted with the students for about an hour and patiently listened to all their problems.
Considering the seriousness of the matter, the collector immediately summoned the SDM, Tehsildar, and ADPC of the education department to the spot.
The collector has formed an inquiry committee, which has been directed to conduct a thorough investigation into the hostel's arrangements and the allegations made by the students.
Ensuring the safety of the students, the collector arranged for them to be sent back to the hostel in government vehicles. Subsequently, all the students were safely transported to their hostel in about four government vehicles.
Now, further action in this entire matter will depend on the report of the inquiry committee. Only after the report is submitted will it be clear how much truth there is in the allegations and what action will be taken against those responsible.
