Tector's Memorable 100th Match

Ireland's innings had a mixed start, losing wickets at regular intervals. However, Harry Tector, playing his 100th T20 International, anchored the innings from one end.

Tector played a brilliant half-century knock, scoring 53 runs off 47 balls with five fours and a six. Besides him, Benjamin made a significant contribution of 37 runs off 23 balls. These innings helped Ireland reach a respectable total.

For India, debutant Prince Yadav had a fantastic outing, picking up three wickets. Shivam Dube and Arshdeep Singh claimed two wickets each.

Indian Batting Falters

Chasing a target of 156, the Indian team had a disastrous start. Both openers, Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma, were dismissed without scoring.

Captain Shreyas Iyer could also only manage 10 runs. Indian-origin bowler Jay Moondra pushed the Indian team on the back foot by taking the first three wickets. Ishan Kishan's (12) run-out further compounded the team's problems.

Captain Shreyas Iyer said after the match, We fought till the end, but fell a few runs short. Ireland played better cricket than us and deserved to win.

Tilak Varma's Fight Goes in Vain

Tilak Varma stood firm at one end, playing a fighting knock of 55 runs off 46 balls, but he lacked adequate support from the other end.

Shivam Dube (20) and Harshit Rana (21) showed some resistance but couldn't take the team over the finish line. For Ireland, Jay Moondra and Matt Hollaard were the stars with the ball, taking three wickets each to seal the win for their team.
