Ravna Rajput Community Demands OBC Survey Data
Jalore |The Ravna Rajput Mahasabha and Yuva Mahasabha Sanstha submitted a memorandum to the Collector in the name of the Chief Minister on Thursday. In it, they raised serious questions about the survey conducted by the Rajasthan State Other Backward Classes Commission, describing it as unreliable and creating a state of confusion.

Serious Questions Raised on Survey

In the memorandum submitted under the leadership of Mahasabha's district president Rajusingh Rajpura, it was stated that the data related to the survey that emerged on August 5 has not been able to create a sense of satisfaction and trust among any caste of the OBC category in Rajasthan.

They expressed concern that various news media are presenting this survey as a caste census, whereas it is not an actual caste census but merely a survey conducted by the commission.

Flaws in the Survey Process

The memorandum stated that there are many OBC families in several cities and villages of Rajasthan who were not contacted at all during the survey.

It was also alleged that many enumerators performed data entry based on estimated caste from the voter list, which casts doubt on the accuracy of the data.

Key Demands Put Forth by the Community

The Ravna Rajput community has clearly stated its demands.

  • Make Report Public: The entire report of the commission should be made public immediately.
  • Clear Distinction: The difference between the survey and a caste census should be clarified.
  • Detailed Data: Village, ward, tehsil, and district-wise data of all castes should be made public.
  • Increase Reservation: OBC reservation should be increased in proportion to the population.
  • Special Provisions: Special provisions should be made for underrepresented castes.
  • Reservation in TSP Area: OBC reservation should also be ensured in the TSP area.
  • Independent Review: An independent review of the survey and verification of the data should be conducted.
  • One Name: Various designations of the Ravna Rajput community should be removed and unified under the single name 'Ravna Rajput'.

On this occasion, a large number of people from the Ravna Rajput community, including Youth District President Suryapalsingh, Dalpatsingh Arya, Suresingh Narsana, Hadmatsingh Bakra, Kishansinh Rathore Kawrada, Hadmatsingh, Chhogsingh, Rameshsigh, Chhagansingh Bakra, and Ganpatsingh, were present.
