Examination Left Incomplete
When the policemen refused to bring beer, the hospital staff allegedly left the children's medical examination incomplete.
They were sent back and asked to come the next morning. The complaint also alleges that the staff on duty was intoxicated.
Authority Takes Cognizance
This matter reached Savitri Anand Nirbhik, the secretary of the District Legal Services Authority, through the Child Welfare Committee. She took the matter very seriously.
The authority secretary took immediate action, summoning PMO Dr. Virendra Mahatma and CMHO Dr. Dinesh Kharadi and demanding a detailed report on the matter.
Inquiry Committee Formed
Following the authority's intervention, the PMO has formed a committee to investigate the matter. Additionally, the medical examination of both victim children has been completed.
The District Collector has also been informed about this entire incident to ensure appropriate administrative action.
Hostel Operator Arrested in Sexual Exploitation Case
On the other hand, in the sexual exploitation case where the children were victims, the police arrested the hostel operator on Saturday.
About 40 children from Sirohi, Jalore, and Barmer, who were students from class 5 to 12, lived in this hostel.
According to the police, medical tests of two out of six children, aged 10 and 12, have been conducted so far.
Hostel Was Running Without Registration
Following the District Collector's instructions, the Municipal Council has sealed the hostel.
Municipal Council Commissioner Jodharam Vishnoi informed that the hostel was being operated illegally without any registration.
During the inspection, it was also found that the hostel lacked adequate facilities and security arrangements for the children. There were only two toilets for 40 children, and the premises were found to be very dirty.
