Surya's 'Tandav' After Losing Captaincy

Surya, who had been struggling with poor form for a long time, found his rhythm back in this game. He scored 48 runs off just 24 balls at a strike rate of 200.
His aggressive innings included 3 fours and 4 towering sixes. This knock came on the very day the BCCI announced the handing over of the T20 team's command to Shreyas Iyer.
However, Surya's stormy innings was not enough for his team, Triumphs Knights. Shreyas Iyer's team, SoBo Mumbai Falcons, won the match. Iyer also played a brilliant innings of 61 runs off 36 balls.

Before the match, Suryakumar showed a wonderful display of sportsmanship. He warmly hugged his successor in captaincy, Shreyas Iyer, and congratulated him on the new responsibility.
At the time of the toss, he welcomed the decision, saying he was very happy for his long-time companion.
"I am very happy for Shreyas. He is getting the captaincy of the Indian T20 team. We have played a lot of cricket together in Bombay. It is a proud moment for Mumbai cricket."
This statement was Suryakumar's first public reaction after the BCCI announced major changes in the T20 setup.
Agarkar Explained the Reason for the Change
Chief selector Ajit Agarkar admitted that removing Suryakumar from the captaincy was a tough decision. He had led India to a T20 World Cup victory earlier this year.
Agarkar clarified that this decision was made with the future in mind. The selectors wanted to create a new leadership direction for the next World Cup cycle.
He cited Shreyas Iyer's strong leadership skills and his consistent good performance in all formats as the main reason for this decision.
Even though Surya's team lost the match, he won everyone's hearts with his explosive batting and sportsmanship. This signals the beginning of a new chapter in Indian cricket.
