She said, "So that whenever we come face to face, we can meet each other's eyes and not have to be ashamed." Raje emphasized that humanity should be much bigger than political lines.
Engage in rivalry fiercely, but leave a little room, so that whenever we come face to face, we don't have to be ashamed of ourselves.
When Bhairon Singh and Sukhadia Ate Paan Together
Vasundhara Raje recalled an interesting anecdote of two stalwarts of Rajasthan politics, former Chief Ministers Bhairon Singh Shekhawat and Mohanlal Sukhadia.
She explained, "There was a time when there were heated debates in the house between Bhairon Singh ji and Mohanlal Sukhadia ji. Both would launch fierce political attacks on each other."
Raje added, "But as soon as the assembly proceedings ended, both great leaders would stand together at the same paan shop, eating paan and talking to each other." There was only a battle of ideologies between them, no personal enmity or discord.
A Great Lesson for Today's Leaders
Through this anecdote, Raje conveyed the message that it is natural to have differences in politics, but they should never turn into personal discord. This is a great lesson for today's leaders.
Declining Level of Language in the House
The former CM also expressed concern that instances of unparliamentary conduct are now appearing in the house and the level of language is continuously declining.
She said that there was a time when MLAs came with full preparation and study, and the house would be full. But today's new MLAs do not come prepared.
During her speech, Raje also mentioned the successes of the Antyodaya Yojana of the Bhairon Singh Shekhawat government and the Bhamashah Swasthya Yojana of her own government. Reciting a couplet, she said, 'The fragrance of a rose will surely come from your hands, just try removing thorns from someone's path.'
