Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi to visit Kota on June 17.
The main purpose is a 'Student Dialogue' on the NEET paper leak and student issues.
Former CM Ashok Gehlot accuses BJP and Lok Sabha Speaker's office of disrupting the event.
Congress plans to hold similar student conferences in other educational hubs nationwide.
Kota | A political storm has erupted in Rajasthan over Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi's visit to Kota on June 17. Rahul is scheduled to interact with students on the NEET-UG paper leak and other issues under the 'Chhatra Samvad' program. Ahead of this visit, former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has made serious allegations against the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Political Turmoil Before Rahul's Visit
Rahul Gandhi's visit is a major effort to raise student issues at the national level. Through this program, Congress aims to strengthen its connection with the youth.
However, a controversy has erupted even before the event. Former CM Ashok Gehlot has claimed that the BJP government is trying to sabotage the program.
Ashok Gehlot targeted the BJP through a post on the social media platform 'X'. He stated that the BJP is rattled by the enthusiasm among students.
Gehlot wrote, "Coaching, PG, and guest house operators are being threatened with calls from the office of the Kota MP and Lok Sabha Speaker, telling them that no student from their establishments should attend this program. A person holding a dignified post like the Speaker should not have such a mindset."
He described such actions as undemocratic and condemnable. Gehlot alleges that this is an attempt to stop the democratic process of dialogue.
Focus on Student Issues
According to the Congress, the main focus of this 'Student Dialogue' is the NEET-UG paper leak issue. This matter is linked to the future of millions of students across the country.
Additionally, the program will also discuss other important topics such as recurring paper leaks, flaws in the examination system, and diminishing employment opportunities for the youth.
Rahul Gandhi will directly listen to the students' problems and answer their questions. The aim is to bring the voice of the youth to the Parliament.
Beginning of a Nationwide Campaign
Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal has clarified that the Kota event is just the beginning. It is part of a larger nationwide campaign by the Congress.
The party plans to organize similar student conferences in other major coaching and educational centers across the country. Through this, Congress will prominently raise issues related to the youth.
This visit makes it clear that Congress is fully prepared to corner the government on issues like paper leaks and unemployment in the upcoming sessions. This program is being seen as a crucial part of the opposition's strategy.
