Tehran | Tensions between Iran and the United States have once again reached a peak. Despite American and Israeli bombardment, Iran has reopened most of its underground missile tunnels, deepening fears of war.
Satellite Images Reveal the Truth
Recently released satellite images have exposed this development. These pictures clearly show that Iran is fully prepared to use its old missile stock.
According to a CNN report, Iran has reopened the entrances to most of its 18 underground missile facilities. This is being considered a major strategic move.
The US and Israel had targeted a total of 69 tunnel entrances. Out of these, Iran has now made 50 tunnels ready for use again.
Repair Work Continues Rapidly
The Iranian army has repaired these tunnels with great speed. Debris has been cleared and paths have been opened using ordinary bulldozers and dump trucks.
Surprisingly, even during the conflict, attacks on equipment continued, but Iran did not stop the repair work. After the ceasefire, this work has gained even more momentum.
Iran has also filled the craters on the roads caused by the bombing. In some places, new roads have even been paved to facilitate the easy movement of missile launchers.
Experts believe that Iran wants to demonstrate that its missile capability has not been affected. It is ready to respond to any attack.
Sam Lair, a researcher at the James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies, has shared his opinion on this.
Iran is still in a position to launch missiles. Although the launch rate may have decreased during the war, Iran continued its attacks by gradually reopening the sites.
Lair also believes that while the US military did a good job of suppressing the missile sites, it could prove to be a strategic failure without a solid plan and a clear path to victory.
Agreement on the Strait of Hormuz
Meanwhile, the CNN report also states that a temporary agreement has been reached between Iran and the US to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
However, negotiations on implementing this agreement are still ongoing. If the talks fail and fighting resumes, Iran has enough missiles for retaliatory action.
The Pentagon has declined to comment directly on this report. Spokesperson Shawn Parnell stated that the US military is capable of taking action anywhere and anytime on the President's orders.
Overall, this move by Iran could affect the balance of power in the Middle East. It shows that completely eliminating Iran's missile power through conventional bombing is nearly impossible, and tensions may persist for a long time.
