In Nandgaon, Reodar, Jagadguru Shankaracharya called Goseva a virtue equal to yajna and pilgrimage at the Shri Surbhi Harihar Chaturmas Mahotsav. Vedic rituals and discourses are being held.
Nandgaon, situated on the sacred land of Arbudaranya, has currently become a major pilgrimage site for Sanatan faith. A wonderful confluence of devotion and faith is being witnessed at the Shri Surbhi Harihar Chaturmas Mahotsav, organized here under the inspiration of Shri Godham Mahatirth Pathmeda. Devotees from all over the country are attending this festival to benefit from Vedic rituals and religious discourses.
Nandgaon Becomes a Great Pilgrimage of Sanatan Faith
During the festival, in the daily religious assembly held at the Dharmacharya Mandapam, Dwarka Sharda Peethadhishwar Jagadguru Shankaracharya Swami Shri Sadanand Ji Maharaj mesmerized the devotees with his inspiring sermons. He elaborated on the importance of Goseva, Sanatan culture, and spiritual life.
Jagadguru Shankaracharya ji, recalling the tireless efforts of Pathmeda Maharajshri, said that Shri Godham Mahatirth Pathmeda started from a simple thatched hut.
He mentioned that today, this same place has developed into 64 large Goseva projects, becoming a great inspiration for Sanatan culture and cow service.
Shankaracharya ji said, "Where the mother cow is worshipped and served, the special grace of God remains. Performing Goseva yields merits equal to performing a yajna and results equivalent to a pilgrimage."
He further added that daily remembrance, service, and reverent touch of the mother cow make life prosperous and auspicious.
In his discourse, Shankaracharya ji also clarified the subtle difference between cleanliness and purity. He emphasized that along with external cleanliness, the purity of mind, intellect, and soul is also extremely essential.
He explained that in Sanatan Dharma, purity holds a special place, which is not limited to physical cleanliness alone.
Giving a simple example, he said that no matter how clean and modern a bathroom is, one cannot sit and eat there. In contrast, one can eat with reverence and ease under a tree in a forest. This clarifies that cleanliness and purity are two different subjects.
Vedic Worship in the Morning, Discourses Throughout the Day
The festival is bustling with spiritual programs. Every day from 7 to 9 AM, Vedic worship and Abhishek of Lord Shri Harihar are being performed.
Many devotees, including Shri Devji Purohit of Kailash Nagar, Shri Bharatsingh Ji Basant with his wife, and Shri Raghunathsingh Ji, President of Pathmeda, participated reverently as the main hosts.
This Vedic worship is being conducted under the guidance of Pt. Mahavir Ji Pareek, with assistance from Sunil Ji, Ghanshyam Ji, and Radheshyam Ji.
The Sacred Chaturmas of Jagadguru Shankaracharya
A major attraction of the festival is the sacred Chaturmas of Jagadguru Shankaracharya Swami Shri Sadanand Ji Maharaj. He is guiding the devotees with his discourses on Dharma, Vedanta, and Sanatan culture every day from 11 AM to 12:30 PM.
