Bikaner | Rajasthan Pradesh Congress President Govind Singh Dotasra has made a major and controversial statement against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. He said that if the BJP returns to power this time, it will be difficult for elections to be held in the country in the future. Dotasra was addressing a large protest organized in Bikaner against the mismanagement at PBM Hospital.
Dotasra's Big Attack on the Center: 'They Will End Democracy'
Govind Singh Dotasra launched a scathing attack on the central government, saying that the BJP is weakening democratic institutions.
He alleged, "If the BJP returns to power this time and the delimitation process remains in the hands of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, it will be difficult for elections to be held in the country in the future."
Dotasra further said that these people will never let elections happen in the country and are affecting the basic structure of democracy. He warned that if the party continues to get power, a serious crisis could arise for the country's democratic system.
Congress's Show of Strength in Bikaner
Congress organized a massive show of strength in Bikaner to protest the recent deaths of two pregnant women and alleged mismanagement at PBM Hospital.
State President Dotasra, Leader of Opposition Tikaram Jully, and a large number of Congress leaders and workers participated in this protest. The protesters tried to enter the collectorate and climbed the barricades set up by the police.
Police Used Mild Force
The heavy police force present at the spot tried to stop the protesters. When the protesters did not relent, the police used mild force to disperse them.
To control the situation, the collectorate premises were turned into a cantonment, where heavy police force, RAC, and Special Police Force were deployed. Water cannons and tear gas machines were also kept ready.
10-Point Memorandum Submitted to Collector
After the protest, a Congress delegation met with District Collector Nishant Jain. However, Dotasra and Jully were not part of this delegation.
The delegation included former ministers Dr. B.D. Kalla, Bhanwar Singh Bhati, Madan Gopal Meghwal, and Bishnaram Siyag. They submitted a memorandum to the collector regarding their ten-point demands.
The collector has assured appropriate action, but Congress leaders have warned that if action is not taken within ten days, they will launch a more aggressive agitation.
During this time, Congress leaders also heavily targeted the ministers of the state government. Leader of Opposition Tikaram Jully said, "Coffins are coming out from where people go to save their lives. Children go to school, and the building collapses."
Govind Singh Dotasra launched a personal attack on Education Minister Madan Dilawar.
Dotasra said, "The Education Minister has said that a government teacher who does not send his children to a government school is useless. I say that the Education Minister who sends his grandson to a private English medium school is a great useless person."
He also raised questions about Agriculture Minister Kirodi Lal Meena and questioned the lack of ACB action in the case of a large sum of money being found with one of his close associates.
Serious Allegations of Corruption in Hospital
Former minister Dr. B.D. Kalla alleged that medicines were purchased from blacklisted companies at PBM Hospital, which led to the death of two women.
He also alleged that multipara monitors worth Rs 77,000 were purchased for one lakh rupees each for the ICU, yet the situation did not improve.
Internal Rifts Visible in Protest
During the meeting, the internal factionalism of Congress also came to the surface. When former minister Govindram Meghwal was giving a speech, supporters of Rameshwar Dudi raised slogans fiercely.
Dotasra, who was present on the stage, gestured for the workers to remain calm, but the slogans of 'Dudi Amar Rahein' (Long live Dudi) continued to echo, creating an awkward situation for a while.
This protest symbolizes a major mobilization by Congress against the state government. Using the tragic incidents at PBM Hospital as a basis, Congress has not only questioned the health system but has also directly attacked the policies of the central and state governments, which may lead to more political heat in Rajasthan in the coming days.
