Sirohi Bar Association opposed land allotment for the new court building in Rajpura.
Lawyers described the current Sarupvilas complex as the most convenient and suitable location.
The Rajpura (Balda) area was described as an accident-prone and remote location.
The association warned of protests and informing the government if the demand is not met.
SIROHI | The District Bar Association of Sirohi has strongly opposed the proposed land allotment for the new court building. The association held a meeting and unanimously rejected the proposal for land allotment in Rajpura (Balda), demanding that the building be constructed within the current Sarupvilas complex.
Why the Dispute Over the New Court Building?
A crucial meeting was held on Saturday at the Advocate's Mandal Hall under the chairmanship of President Bhanwar Singh Deora. The main agenda was the issue of land allotment for the new court building. Lawyers expressed serious concerns about the proposed Rajpura site.
The association believes that the Rajpura (Balda) area is too far from the Sirohi headquarters. Furthermore, it is an accident-prone zone where several accidents have occurred in the past.
President Bhanwar Singh Deora stated that lawyers and the general public would have to pass through an outer valley road to reach the court. This route is not considered safe.
He added that this distance and risk would cause significant inconvenience to litigants, witnesses, and advocates, which could affect the judicial process.
Why is Sarupvilas Complex the First Choice?
In contrast, the Bar Association considers the Sarupvilas complex to be the most suitable location for the new building. This complex is centrally located and easily accessible to everyone.
President Bhanwar Singh Deora said, "Currently, judicial work is conducted in the Sarupvilas complex. There are about 40-45 government offices and courts in and around it, making it the most suitable place for the public, advocates, and the underprivileged in terms of accessibility."
Since the complex is already a hub for judicial and administrative activities, constructing a new building here would be logical and convenient.
All advocates present at the meeting unanimously passed a resolution for land allotment within the Sarupvilas complex. Simultaneously, a protest resolution was passed, strongly opposing the land allotment in Rajpura (Balda).
The association has warned that they will stage protests if their demands are not met. The government, the Chief Justice of the Rajasthan High Court, and the Law Minister will soon be informed about this issue to protect the public interest.
